Dinner fail

Runny poached eggs are not better than a brownie. You know what else isn't better than a brownie? Mushy asparagus. I ate it anyway because I am too tired to make something else. Ugh.

Oh, and The Dog escaped as I was leaving for work and the only way to catch her was to let her in "Caroline's" car and it was really embarrassing. AND my computer account still isn't working right and I can't send any e-mails. So the work is piling up and I can do some of it, but I can't send it to anybody which is kind of the whole point of actually doing work so that it's finished. This day really, really sucks.

It was so bad I dug out a carton of Ben & Jerry's honey caramel frozen Greek yogurt, and it was so not better than a brownie. I so miss brownies. And also New York Super Fudge Chunk.

  2. The solution for asparagus? toss (after washed and the ends snapped off) in olive oil. Sprinkle a little of your desired spices...garlic, salt and pepper here usually but anything you like should work. Then sprinkle with parmesan cheese if you are feeding children and in to the oven at 400 degrees for between 10-20 minutes depending on...well, how long they take to cook. I usually check at 10 and give it a few if they aren't forkable. Try it....way better than any stove top version of asparagus I have ever managed. Oooh, use some of your new balsamic. ;) "Brynn"

    1. Hey Brynn! My problem was that I used frozen. Never again. At least not that brand, anyway. I love grilling it fresh, but I'll have to try the oven method in the winter.

    2. yes, asparagus does not freeze well. I am a fan of frozen vegetables for some things but asparagus and brussels sprouts must be fresh. ;) I miss your every day blogging, so good work keeping up. heh. I am wondering if I need to have my 150 Bad days coming up....but I don't know if I have blog in me every day.....especially since I have a new sewing machine. hehe "Brynn"

    1. Dear Artemis the Chef,

You're on! Shopping for gourmet food, here we come! But maybe after your move since the last thing you need now is more stuff to pack. Also, do you have any need for a really big fish tank in your new place? Or some very hideous mirrors from Afghanistan?
